Deen Coulson discovered his love for music at a young age, and he has been putting his considerable talent to work for a number of years now, helping local groups who want to share in the joy of making music together. Deen has a passion for musical theatre and has been involved with multiple Christchurch companies over the years; his most noticeable work being “Breaking Plates” which he musically directed, scored and orchestrated. Outside of his choral work, Deen is also a Jester at the Court Theatre and fronts his own rock band, the “Deen Coulson Project”. In addition to directing Global Voices and running his own music projects, Deen is well known as a choir director, accompanist and tutor at Ara Music Arts, the Christchurch School of Music, St. Michael’s School, WEA Canterbury and other local institutions. As if he wasn’t already busy enough, he is also a multi-instrumentalist who teaches arrangement, orchestration, piano, guitar, bass, and singing, both privately and at schools throughout Christchurch.
